Tinnitus and Salt removal..

A quick summary of my salt reduction and the tinnitus.

( I refer to the tinnitus as “Barbera” as it feels less negative to me)

TINNITUS AND SALT

1. HOW THIS TEST CAME ABOUT:

The salt removal concept was first proposed by my GP. I have no recollection why.

 

2. THE PROCESS:

Now I honestly did not believe I was a big salt eater…

Well little did I know. I was getting loads from the vitamin c drink capsule things you drop in water.

Loads from my first love as well – “crisps”

Onion Ring flavour is the real issue..!

So the journey of salt exploration started. I googled and you YouTubed my way through life for a few days. As I discovered again there is little information around so another self-discovery journey starts.

I removed all my vitamin c capsule things, had a period of deep onion ring flavour crisp withdrawal and removed all “man-made food”.

3 weeks was the plan. 3 weeks seems to be my average testing time…

3. MY RESULTS

No change for me in terms of Barbera over the 3 weeks.

I still had the tunes banging away.

I will say that I did feel better in myself. I have never gone back on the vitamin c capsules. I assume removing an overload of anything that is not great for you will have a positive effect.

I have become aware of “salt” and the salt content in food and it is rather staggering at times.

 

4. GOING FORWARD:

We all need a certain level of salt and I can’t fathom how one would remove salt totally.

For me: I am now aware of how much salt is in the food I eat. I do make more informed choices now.

I do have the belief though that helping Barbera feel better about the noise she brings to my life is about many small things all coming together.

Hence the world of tests and tears I will chat about here.
